Many VFC offices have operable windows and allow for natural lighting for reduced energy use. Employees are encouraged to exercise for at least 30 minutes a day. Clinics provide a range of free primary and specialty care services to more than 6,000 individuals annually. Of these approximately 3,400 are Santa Monica residents. 77% of VFC patients are minority group members, 75% have no healthcare, 70% live below the poverty line, 26% are children, and 16% are homeless.
