Venice Family Clinic

Excellence in Stewardship of the Environment and Excellence in Social Responsibility, 2007

Venice Family Clinic (VFC) is a private non-profit organization providing free healthcare for low-income families. Many VFC offices have operable windows and allow for natural lighting for reduced energy use. Employees are encouraged to exercise for at least 30 minutes a day. Clinics provide a range of free primary and specialty care services to more than 6,000 individuals annually. Of these approximately 3,400 are Santa Monica residents. 77% of VFC patients are minority group members, 75% have no healthcare, 70% live below the poverty line, 26% are children, and 16% are homeless.

Veo is on a mission to end car dependency by making clean transportation accessible to all by providing millions of shared bike and scooter rides in 50+ cities and universities across North America.  They operate from a set of values that distinguish them in the industry. Their in-house design and manufacturing process enables them to constantly innovate and provide cities with the next generation of shared electric bikes and scooters. Veo is actively committed to hiring a diverse and inclusive workforce. Veo's Access pricing program benefits low-income residents with transportation needs. They donate $30,000 annually to community based charity organizations and participate in helmet giveaways at community events by partnering with several Santa Monica based non-profits. They also develop collaborative, long-term partnerships with cities and universities, so they can work towards a sustainable, safe, and equitable transportation future.
